Simple pleasures

I recently ordered these pencils through Amazon.ca because I love both products and I can't live without them!

I've used the Staedtler HB pencils for eons for everyday stuff and idea sketching.  My nice stash of them was scattered (hiding) throughout the house. So before panic set in, I ordered more. But.  They don't have an eraser.  I know you'll be surprised, but I need erasers. Yes. Sad, but it's true.

The pencil cap erasers are another ancient art supply that I love.... It's these little things that, when you live without them for a while, you appreciate even more when you get them back.

Just in case you happen to love the same things, they're easy to find, even when you live in the boonies!

Happy Creating!

Mother's Day Card

I just felt the need to colour!  And this is what happened....

It was quick and easy!  Here is how you can do it!

Supplies:
Quietfire Keep Calm and Call Mom
Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched and Fitted Ovals
Imagine Crafts VersaMagic Midnight Black
Arches 140# HP Watercolour Paper
Ranger Queen's Gold Embossing Powder
Tombow Dual Brush Pens 703, 847,703 and 249
Tombow Mono Adhesive Dot Dispenser
Tombow 3D Foam Tabs
brush for blending
water
heat tool
Bazzill Cardstocks

Instructions:
  1. Form a 6 x 5" tent-fold card base from light green cardstock.
  2. Stamp sentiment on watercolour paper and immediately sprinkle with embossing powder.  Heat emboss.
  3. Use markers to add colour to petals and leaves.  Blend with water to get a watercolour wash effect.  Allow to dry. Not all markers blend well with water.  Test yours out on a scrap piece of watercolour paper!
  4. Die cut sentiment with stitched oval and mat with a slightly larger fitted oval die cut from dark green cardstock.
  5. Adhere watercolour oval to green oval with Mono Adhesive.  Attach to card front with foam tabs.
Sweet!  I know yours will turn out even better!
Happy creating, Suzanne

With love Friday

I'm back again this Friday with a quick card made by combining two A Way With Words die cuts with the beautiful Maja Design cardstock collection called Summer Crush.

I just love the Maja Papers.  They are shabby and chic and have geometric, floral and subtle patterns in their papers.  I’ve paired them here with Core’dinations solid cardstocks which coordinate (!) beautifully.

I’ve been itching to try out the Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Creative Sheets that I was gifted at Creativation.  Check out how well it worked on “With”!  It's an awesome way to give your words a bit of dimension!  The foam comes in white and black.

So here is how you can make this card....

Supplies:

A Way With Words With Sympathy  Quietfire Site | ECDSite
A Way With Words Baby love  Quietfire Site | ECDSite
Maja Design Summer Crush 12x12” collection
Core’dinations cardstock in Harborside and Reflecting Pool
Staples White cardstock
Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Creative Sheets, E-Z Runner and Crafty Foam TapeRoll

Instructions:

1.       Form a tent-fold card base measuring 6 x6” from Harborside cardstock.  Cut a panel from patterned paper measuring  4.5 x 4”.  Cut a mat to create a border approximately 1/8” larger from Reflecting Pool cardstock and another piece of patterned paper to create a mat for the plain cardstock.  Adhere them all together.
2.       Die cut love from Harborside cardstock.
3.       Adhere a piece of 3D Foam sheet to the back of white cardstock, cut big enough for the With die, by removing one of the release sheets on the foam.  Die cut With.
4.       Draw a guide line across the smallest patterned paper panel as shown in my Keeping Your a Way With Words Diecuts Straight video. Remove the release paper from the back of With and carefully lay it down on the patterned paper.  Adhere love as shown in photo.
5.       Adhere patterned papers panel to card base with Crafty Foam Tape.
6.       Smile and send your card!

Thanks for stopping by for a look.  Have a happy and creative weekend!

Because it's Friday

Hi Artlings!
It's Friday afternoon which is a time when I get a little breather.  All orders are shipped till Monday and other designing has not hit full speed yet!

Breathe. Play.

This yummy paper from Bo Bunny with its strong winter theme came in yesterday and I have this little box die from Elizabeth Craft Designs - and they needed to go together with an A Way With Words die. Oh, and it SNOWED again today.  This is not typical westcoast weather.  It's still winter....

Here is a project that is so simple it will make you weep.  What a great way to give a little gift!
Just because.

Supplies:
Elizabeth Craft Designs A Way With Words Because die  Quietfire Site | ECD Site
Elizabeth Craft Designs Lantern Box die
Bo Bunny Winter Wishes 6x6" paper pad
Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Adhesive
Ribbon

Instructions:
  1. Die cut Because from darker gray patterned paper.  Die cut box from two different patterned papers for interest.  They are from a collection, so they coordinate beautifully.
  2. Assemble box with Clear Double Sided Adhesive.
  3. Fill the box!
  4. Tie Because onto the box handle with ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great (and creative!) weekend.
