Isn't technology amazing? Now can I attach a totally non-relevant photo of our newly diabetic kitty?

Wow! Will this work?

If you are receiving this as an email update, please click on the title of this entry and you will go to the blog where you can view the video. (A little smoother delivery this time, still need the manicure! As long as I'm getting the information across - that's what matters!)

Both these tutorial can be found on my website in the appropriate product categories, as well as on my YouTube Channel. You can subscribe to the videos there.

Feel free to suggest other topics for video tutorials!

Tutorial Video - Introduction to Calligraphy Nibs

Well, these have been a long time in coming.....
I have been planning to make tutorials for over a year, but I have lots of excuses! Here is my first try. It often takes me a while to get into "teaching gear" and I didn't get to that point in this video - luckily the next one is smoother!

My son tells me I don't sound anything like this. And anyone know a good manicurist???? lol!

I sometimes get emails asking some basic questions about calligraphy and I hope this is the beginning of answering those questions.

If you are receiving this as an email update, please click on the title above and you will be taken to this blog where your can view the video.

Created byhand Challenge - Spring

Happy Easter!

I hope you're having a happy and relaxing Easter - and that you find some time to be creative!

This was lettered using

Bristle Brush to load gouache into your pen and to make rough frame around photo

Collagevisions Easter Digital Collage Sheet (found on Kelly Burton's Etsy page - not a QFD product, darn it!)

When I mixed the gouache, I used white as the base and added a tiny amount of the Chromium Oxide Green. This made the mixture a bit too green to match the eggs, so I added an even tinier amount of Paris Blue. It has to dry before you can tell if your match is close!

Add to the new Quietfire Creations flickr Pool for a chance to win!

I have started a flickr group. It's called Quietfire Creations.
The idea is to add and share the artwork you have made
*using Quietfire Rubber Stamps*
into the Group Pool. It's here:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/quietfire/

Right now, I'm the only person there... sniff. Please join me!

I don't see flickr as a discussion group, but a place to upload artwork for lots of people to see. You can view all the artwork
as a slideshow! Love it! You don't need to be a member to view the Group
Pool.

At the end of April, I will draw a name from the people who have uploaded
artwork. The prize will be a goody bag of Quietfire Rubber!
