Born to Break Our Heart

My Dad used to say that pets were born to break our heart.
Feeling that acutely today as we said goodbye to our 13 year old kitty.

    Your Dad is so right!

  10. Yes it is very hard, but your Dad is only partially correct. Pets also make our hearts grow. Without them we would not have the expanded part in our hearts that only a cherished pet can bring. 13 years of unconditional love is worth a broken heart when it is time to say goodbye. We have been blessed.
I hope your grieving turns to cherished memories sooner rather than later.
We are lucky to have known them. Sometimes for a short time, sometimes for a long time, but lucky.
