Tuesday byhand Challenge - Gold

Well, I'm still on the Valentine's kick.... I set the Challenge for Gold this week without even thinking how difficult it was to scan artwork with gold on it. Sorry!!
Here is my contribution!

Ever felt this way?
This is made with left over Ecoline coloured paper (see three entries ago!), Bazzill Monochroms, brass (GOLD!) brads, a bandaid (took me ages to find one that small!!) and the lettering was done with a Mitchell #2 Roundhand Nib using Schmincke Gold Tro-Col Gouache rich gold.

Created byhand Challenge - Love quotes

This card was made using the background paper described in the previous post. The quote was stamped with Black Brilliance ink, the overlapping gold foiled heart was made by drawing the heart with the Sailor Glue Pen, then adding gold foil over the glue. Cardstock is Bazzill Monochroms!

Ecoline Resist for Valentine's Day Card

Here is a wee card I made for my friend. The hearts were made with regular crayon on white cardstock then I used a wet in wet technique for adding Ecoline Colours: 311 Vermillion, 545 Red Violet and Scarlet 334. The decorated hearts were mounted on white cardstock and then red cardstock.

Here is the back of the card - her name was done with a Staedlter Calligraph Duo, the Happy Valentines Day with a Gel Extreme white pen and the hearts with a Gel Extreme Gold pen.

Cover story

Recently I was flattered to be asked to do the cover artwork for the Warmland Calligraphers newsletter. Well, I couldn't help but be boring and do this quote that has been dogging me for years. Maybe I'll finally have it out of my system! It's destine to become rubber soon.....

The cover was printed stark black and white. Yikes, nothing shows up lettering indiscretions like that kind of contrast..... Meanies. Roflolololol!!!

So, here it is again!

The quote came to me, from who knows where, attributed to Edward Teller. Someone sent me an email a while back (my apologies, I spent about half an hour looking for that email!) saying it was someone else's quote. In scouring the internet, I still mostly find it attributed to Edward Teller, but it may also come from Patrick Overton.

Tuesday Created byhand Challenge - The word Love

Here is my contribution: I thought I'd try Wanda's background technique from this week's Design Team Project. Um, I think she had more success!! (She did it on natural cardstock and I had this manilla tag - *that* must make the difference.... ahem. Or not!)

I used

Love stamp from Quietfire Life Journey Words

Large #8 Tag

Distress Inks: Milled Lavender, Tattered Rose and Aged Mahogany

Heart Charm

Wings Charms

Silk Ribbon hand coloured (for instructions on hand colouring, click here!)
